As you know, the Director-General of UNESCO, Mrs Irina Bokova, launched an Emergency Multi-Donor Fund at the closing of the 36th Session of the General Conference.
UNESCO is currently running an online site (http://www.unesco.org/donate) allowing Member States, public institutions, foundations and citizens to donate to UNESCO.
As mentioned by ADG/ERI in the recent Monthly Letter dated on 18 November 2011, the National Commissions are in prime positions to widely disseminate this information to all prospective partners and to mobilize them at the national level.
In this context, we have created web buttons of “Donate to UNESCO” in various languages (http://www.unesco.org/new/donate-resources). We would like to invite you to join our fundraising efforts by placing one of the buttons on your respective websites.
For your information, some National Commissions have already placed or are taking steps to add this link on their websites, such as those of Canada, Sweden, Germany, and the Republic of Korea.
